Carnival Masquerade Event

A week ago I had the pleasure of shooting the Carnival Masquerade Magic event for a post production audio studio called Margarita Mix Santa Monica. The theme was New Orleans and there were pretty masks involved, stilt-walkers, jugglers, good food and plenty of awesome people.  I gotta say this was right up my alley.
Here is a good portion of the night in photos, but there are plenty more to see.  If you were at the party and would like to see more.  E-mail me at rachel@rachelmccauley.com for a link to a full gallery.

Horror Nights

This Halloween has brought me so many fun and spookedy adventures.  The latest was at Universal Studios for their annual Halloween Horror Nights. Universal goes all out with their scare zones, mazes and props.  They even utilize smell in their mazes that, unfortunately, work a little too well.
After I got over the initial horror of the price of admission, I joined a few others and got ready to get our scare on.  I brought my camera along because I figured some of the monsters there would stop and pose for me, but I was wrong.  Unlike Knott's Scary Farm, they never ever break character. In fact, they would make it REALLY difficult for me by getting too close or by running away to scare some other victim.  But, lucky for me I managed to snap a few.
Warning: Not for the faint of heart.

Let Me Entertain You

I had the pleasure of photographing Ms Catrina's Q's  latest production called Let Me Entertain You - A Burlesque Experience. The 3 show run was sold out at the NoHo London Music Hall every night and people were spilling out in to the aisles.  Needless to say, it was a success!
I have to say it was one of the funnest shows I have seen in awhile and not just because the cast was made up of beautiful scantily-clad women.  Every number was performed with grace, humor and extreme talent.  The following photos are just a smidgen of what the show had to offer.  I can't post a lot of the other photos because of the risque factor and well you know...you just had to be there.
